Functioning

The live storage rack works using gravity.

Place a box with a certain weight on a sloping conveyor and

the box rolls to the lowest point (against an end stop).

The lighter the box, the greater the slope that is needed (and vice versa).

Boxes with lesser roll characteristics require a greater slope.

The right slope is reached if:

(a) a box slowly rolls forwards in an empty lane upon filling it and (b) the next boxes roll forward independently upon removing the first box in a full lane.

Our experience teaches us that with a depth of more than approx. 4.5 metres it becomes difficult to find a compromise between slope angle and trouble-free roll-through.

Deeper racking is possible, but rarely useful.

Lane separation over the entire depth results in clear lane division,

but with cardboard boxes this also works as a brake to the forward movement of te box.

A short input guide on the replenishment side can be a better choice to separate the lanes.
