Pitfalls

Pitfalls

The load-bearing capacity of live storage racks must be based on 100%-fill combined

with the maximum box weight. Otherwise the system will fail at maximum load.

Often the customer indicates a too high box weight, such that the racking supplied is too

heavy duty (and too expensive). Weights that your staff cannot lift with any great regularity should not be stored in live storage racks.

Ask on what safety factor and bending ratio the load-bearing capacity is based:

- A bending ratio of 1 cm per 300 cm is better than 1 cm per 200 cm.

- A safety factor of 2.0 is better than 1.5.

Boxes or bins must be suitable for use in live storage racks (roll characteristics).

If in doubt, a practical test will provide a definitive answer.

The replenishment of boxes and bins, in particular, places enormous point load

on the first roll. Therefore this is the first one to fail. For boxes/bins from 15 kg,

a reinforced replenishment side is recommended.

Just comparing the prices can lead to years of regret later. Also compare

the (technical) details and do not forget the guarantee and delivery time.
